About a year and a half ago Ian raced in a charity race at VIR's Plantation Valley Kart Track with some professional drivers as well as a number of Skip Barber Series drivers. There were many notables in the race including Conor Daly who went on to win the SB series that weekend. Ian also met a guy named Fabio Orsolon from Brazil. Fabio took a lot of time chatting with Ian at the kart track and then later called Ian over in the paddocks to chat with him about the Skip Barber Series. I think this is where Ian got to picture himself as a real race car driver for the first time. Thank you Fabio!
